BOGGS : I am either seeking information on or ancestors of the BOGGS family. 1850 Warren, ME census report notes Andrew BOGGS was 43 and a farmer, Jane BOGGS age 84; Nancy BOGGS age 48; Avery BOGGS age 19 and Sanford BOGGS age 14. Sanford enlisted in the 24th Maine Infantry during the Civil War and died in Chicago- Avery also believed to be in the Civil War but possibly discharged a month or two latter. CURTIS/COOKSON/NEWHALL: I am searching for information on Lillian Isabell CURTIS born to Charles S. and Mary Etta CURTIS on March 30, 1932 in South Warren, Maine. First marriage was to Austin F. COOKSON in Thomaston, Maine on Sept. 30,1947. Second marriage unknown. Third marriage was to Frank Leslie NEWHALL in Rockland, Maine on Feb. 27, 1959. DAVIS/SPEAR: George W. Spear born in Warren, ME around 1859. He married Mary DAVIS born in Port Clyde, Maine but she lived in Thomaston, Maine. George W. SPEAR left Maine around 1898 to go to Castleton, Kansas to be a blacksmith. They had two sons James Wilbur and Ascel T. SPEAR. James Wilbur was born in Castleton, KS in 1899. GORDON/NEWBIT: I am looking for any information on the father of Lorna or Freelove Gordon, the wife of John Newbit. She was born in 1804, but I do not know where. Possibly near Warren, Knox, ME. MINOT/ROBINSON:I am looking for information on my ancestor Rebecca Rea (Rae/Ray) MINOT ROBINSON, born c1739, died 10 Feb. 1821. She was a widow when she married my ancestor William ROBINSON. They are buried in Warren. They lived in either Warren or Cushing. I am trying to locate the name of her first husband __________ MINOT and a date for that marriage. Any help greatly appreciated. SIMMONS/HAWES: My line starts with Tiba SIMMONS (b. c1788) and Sarah (b. c1792). They had a son Samuel SIMMONS (b. 1814) died 12/7/1892 in Warren, Maine age 78. Samuel married in April 1944, Sarah (HAWES ) SIMMONS of Camden, (b. 1823), d. Warren, Maine 10/23/1920 age 97. She was the daughter of Robert HAWES (b. c1797) and Lydia KALLOCH (b. c1801). This Simmons family was found in North Warren, Maine. Any information on this family would be most welcome. Don Thompson August 1999



STORER / BURTON / STAHL: My grandfather, Earl STORER, was born in Warren/Knox/Maine during the 1890s; his sisters, Bertha and Rita, were born there about the same time. Their parents were Edward STORER (listed on marriage certificate as Edwin Stover!!)and Nellie BURTON, whose mother was Lucinda STAHL. STARRETT/GAMBLE: My ancestors were founders of Warren Me and Thomaston;they acquired land there around 1735 ;William STARRETT & sons plus Mary GAMBLE's brother Archie GAMBLE had the land next to them. TAYLOR/JONES: Thomas TAYLOR lived in Hancock NH around 1800. There he married Sally JONES b. 6/24/1783, in 1801. They moved to Knox Co. a short time thereafter-probably Warren. I would appreciate in info on his place of origin and/or his parents and family. They had at least 6 children, three of which I have some knowlege; Thomas Jones TAYLOR, b.1802; Edward, b. 1810; and Frances (?) R, At some point they moved to Hope and later to Appleton. WATTS/SHAW My Grandfather was Lyscoe M. WATTS born in Warren abt 1880, (died ??). He married Mabel SHAW of Rockport . They had about 4 children, Genevieve, Louise, Ralph and Evelyn? I believe Lyscoe was called Cody, and I believe his parents were W. M. WATTS of Warren and Minnie ??idlinger. W. M.
