THOMAS/TILSON/AUSTIN : Edward THOMAS (great great grandfather) b abt 1797, married Melinda Fales TILSON.

I am researching who Edward THOMAS's father & mother were, I know from 'Thomaston, Rockland, & South Thomaston', 1865, that Edward came to Thomaston to manage the fulling clothing mill on Mill Stream (p. 61). I know he came from Friendship.

In a copy of the vital records I have from Friendship, it shows an Edward THOMAS being born to Melzar and Lydia THOMAS. But I am wondering if there is another Edward THOMAS mentioned any where else in those records, since I doubt that the Edward mentioned in those records being born around 1815 would have married Melinda Fales TILSON on Sept 3, 1820 (being only 5 years old).

Reuel THOMAS (great grandfather) b 1839 d sometime after 1906, married Jane A. AUSTIN. I have a lot of artifacts from Reuel, and his civil war experience, including his diary from Andersonville Prison, a tin-type taken at Gettsburg...etc.
