GOULD: Johannah Coombs married William HIGGINS, both of Bath married 27 July 1790. They had three children in the Bowdoin, Bowdoinham area. Wiiliam HIGGINS was impressed on a Britih man-of-war and never returned. Widow Johannah HIGGINS mar 2) Daniel GOULD 21 Feb 1799 in Rockport, ME. 1812 Daniel Gould was in a unit raised in Durham for the War of 1812. 1820 census Daniel GOULD 1830 census Daniel GOULD & Daniel GOULD Jr. 1834 Daniel GOULD and his family have removed to Springfield, Maine 1843 Johannah GOULD dies at age 74 in Springfield where she is buried 1850 Daniel is listed in the census but dies in 1857 and is buried in Springfield. I found an obit for Joannah GOULD in the Freewill Baptist publication with all the correct information saying she found Christ in Durham in 1830. So Daniel is the Daniel Gould mentioned in the census and no doubt the War of 1812 though he would have been 50. They married in 1799 so I hope Daniel GOULD Jr. wasn't a 10 or 11 year old drummer boy. The obit said she left and aged husband and six children to grieve her. My Sarah HIGGINS WILLIAMS had already died in childbirth so there were four children surviving from her marriage to Daniel GOULD and two from her marriage to William HIGGINS. I would appreciate any information you can give me on this family. Thanks so much. Barbara LewisMay 1999
