Queries
I have slowly begun to taken over my father's genealogical work and am getting my bearings on where he left off when he died in 1988.
I gather from the introduction of the book (mentioned above) that it is believed by the author's that William VII Hathorn, along with his son Alexander and brother Samuel arrived in Cushing sometime before January of 1743 (deed records) supposedly from Salem. I also read the author's believe William VII and Samuel were sons of Col. John Hathorn (the Salem witch trial judge who d. 1717, buried in Salem).
I have not run across anything in my father's materials which was able to confirm this although he (or the co-author(s)) references some Salem birth records (b. Aug. 1686 in Salem) possibly for William VII. This birth date coincides well with another of John Hathorn's sons, Joseph Hathorn, who others have as born in 1691. Judge John Hathorn only names 5 children in his will which leaves in question William and Samuel's relationship. My Dad references 2 different researchers (Miller and Loggins) who surmises differ; Loggins suggesting the Cushing Hathorns were actually Scotch-Irish where Miller ties William of Cushing to John of Salem.
So, this is my primary endeavor as I take up my father's work, to research what others may have further researched/concluded since my father's book was written in 1986. I hope someone may know of additional work that may have been done in these intervening years about the origin of William VII Hathorn of Cushing before their arrival in 1743.

Is there a list of the people buried at the Ridge cemetery? I'm also
interested to find out if John Allen (1791-1870) and his wife Rebecca
Smalley Allen (1787-?) are buried there as well. I think I recall that John
Hupper (1783-1858) and his wife Elizabeth Teel Hupper (1785-1872) are buried
there. I noticed a query about the Loud family and the Ridge cemetery posted
in July. Are the Loud's buried there? Our line goes through Nathaniel Hupper
(1752-?) of Kennebunkport and Susannah Loud (1759-1839) of Port Clyde (her
parents being William Loud and Rebecca Susan Morgan).
I am researching the line for my husband and son. It is my husband's
paternal line. He is Theodore Fairly Hupper. We now live in San Diego, which
makes research trips to ME difficult. Any info you can provide would be
appreciated. Especially a source for the records of the cemetery in Port
Clyde. Thanks.
Frank N. JELLISON b. 1851
Sons of Nahum Young JELLISON and Mary ABBOTT.
He is the elusive ancestor, being recorded only once in the U. S. Census 1910 in Rockland. He was married twice, to Lissie Story or Storie (died 5 Sep 1899), and to Ida Laamanen (died 6 Mar 1915), I have both marriage records .
My husband's uncle believes that he died and was buried in Warren. I can find a John Johnson on the 1920 census in Warren, but cannot make the connection to "our" John Henry Johnson. He sometimes went by Henry Johnson.
I have found courthouse records in Rockland for him buying and selling property. My husband's uncle remembers him.
He is not in Overlock's 'Warren Cemeteries'
Thank you in advance for your help.
